Great Is Your Faithfulness!

19 Remember my affliction and roaming,
The wormwood and the gall.
20 My soul still remembers
And sinks within me.
21 This I recall to my mind,
Therefore, I have hope.

22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning.
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore, I hope in Him!”

Lamentations 3:19-24 New King James Version (NKJV)

Have you ever just sat back and thought about all that God has done for you, all that He has gotten you through? When I read those verses in Lamentations, I can’t help but do so.

I am senior in years and have a plethora of testimonies regarding what my God has done for me. Granted at a younger age, I didn’t always see that God was watching over me, protecting me from real harm and protecting me from myself. It wasn’t until I began reading the bible that I was able to see God’s hand in my life. I began to understand who God is; and He is who He says He is.

Over and over I read how the people rejected Him. I realized, that no matter what people had done, He was still for them, he still wanted what was best for them, He still used them for His purpose and His Glory, and He loved them very much, regardless of their rejection.

By spending time in the Word of God, now I understand that the unpleasant occurrences that happen in our lives, are of the enemy and not of God. The enemy (the devil) comes only to steal, kill and destroy; that is his only mission.

The reality is, we have a choice, we can choose the world and it’s ways, or we can choose God and His ways.

For I proclaim the name of the Lord:
Ascribe greatness to our God.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He.

Deuteronomy 32:3-4 NKJV

Just understand, if you are a child of God, you can be sure that the enemy at some point will cause unpleasant circumstances to happen in your life. But do not fret about it, don’t let the circumstances of life steal the joy that God has for you.

The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still, and when the enemy comes in like a flood, God will raise up a standard against him; you just have to trust Him. God has never lost a battle, ever, so I choose the one who created me, the one who gave me breath and put purpose in my life; I choose the creator of heaven and earth, the creator of all. Without Him, there is nothing created.

13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV

16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

James 1:16-18 NKJV

The bible doesn’t tell us that God will never allow bad or uncomfortable things to happen to us, but it does tell us that He will get us through those times. It tells us that He will never leave us nor forsake us, even when we turn our backs on Him. He is a faithful!!!

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isiah 41:10 NKJV

11 This is a faithful saying:

For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful.
He cannot deny Himself.

2 Timothy 2:11-13 NKJV

    He is a faithful God. I’ve seen it time and time again in my life and the life of others.
