What Is Love?

Have you ever asked yourself what love is. Well the Bible defines it for us very clearly.

4 Love suffers long [and] is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1Co 13:4-7 NKJV

“Love is love” they scream. So if you disagree with that and stand on the Word of God, that gets you a title of bigot or hypocrite. The entire point of this website is to renew our minds with the Word of God, because that is what the Lord has placed on my heart. So that is exactly what I hope to do, even if I upset some spirits in the process. We have a choice to make either we live for God or we live for the world. We can not do both.

6 For to be carnally minded [is] death, but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.

Rom 8:6 NKJV

15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Rev 3:15-16 NKJV

Jesus is love! yes absolutely, but let me ask you this, do you think Jesus rejoices in our iniquity? Well, based on the biblical definition of love, I’d say not.

Really, iniquity goes a bit deeper then sin. Why do I say this? Well, because iniquity is a willful, almost premeditated decision, to commit such an act without repentance. Sin isn’t always such.

Today, the world is full of iniquity. We are depicting homosexuality, transgenderism, fornication, and ungodly marriages as acceptable ways of life. They are NOT. Our children are hearing words like our body our choice and being led to believe that abortion is okay. It is NOT. Drag queens and transvestites reading to them in our libraries, and being celebrated on television is NOT okay.

Love is not love all no matter what they want to do, love is what God says it is. Thus, if we love like Jesus loves, then we will correct like Jesus would. If we don’t stand against the iniquity in the world today how is this LOVE? How is turning a blind eye love? How is acceptance of unrighteousness love? I just don’t get it.

Suppose you have a child that you know is abusing drugs or alcohol, what do you do? Nothing? Well I should hope not, because not doing everything in your power to help them, not telling them the TRUTH about what their addiction can do to them or others, is NOT loving them. How then, is a Christian a hypocrite or a bigot for trying to turn someone away from sin, or their iniquity and back to a right standing with God? Our correction needs to be in love, with mercy and grace, but we must correct.

1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who [are] spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Gal 6:1-2 NKJV

Jesus is not going to bless our iniquity. He is going to correct us, convict us to turn the other way, to repent and start again. When the scribes and Pharisees brought the woman caught in adultery to test Jesus, what did Jesus say? First he addressed the men who brought the woman to him saying, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone.” (John 8:7) Then he addressed the woman….

“Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
11 She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

John 8:10-11

So what did Jesus do, he made it clear that she was wrong, that she was living in sin. He did not rejoice in her act of iniquity. He did not say “okay then neither do I condemn you, carry on, go about your way”. No he said, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

James 5:19-20 NKJV

Jesus died for us, he died for all our iniquity, all our sin. If we don’t let people know the truth, how can they ever turn to Jesus and be saved? Love is telling people the truth, and the truth is the Word of God, period!
